Role: AWS Application Architect Location: Dearborn, Michigan Duration: 8 Months The AWS Application Architect will be responsible for designing highly scalable application solutions that support critical business applications with high transaction volumes. In this role, the candidate will help address functional and non-functional enterprise application requirements and gain alignment to proposed solution from stakeholders. - The candidate will engage with infrastructure, security, DevOps, operations and other teams to help implement a robust solution that supports a 24x7 operational application.
- The ideal candidate will have an ownership mindset and combine technical, organizational requirements to drive execution.
For technical skills, the role will require expertise in cloud application transformation covering infrastructure, application design, and operational scalability. - We prefer that the candidate have experience leveraging DevOps CI/CD automation to realize operational agility.
- Experience with container technologies and platforms like Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker will be a definite plus.
- You will actively participate in project estimation, design, implementation and help address operational concerns.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be able to successfully: - Experience building and designing high performance distributed systems solving large scale engineering challenges
- Have a solid working knowledge distributed messaging and streaming platforms, such as Apache Kafka Streams and you have career experience dealing with unbounded data
- Ability to work with cross functional teams to craft highly scalable, flexible and resilient cloud architectures that includes review of existing customer workloads and recommendations for future workloads.
- Advise product teams on best practices around loosely coupled distributed cloud based architecture patterns.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment using agile software practices
- Exhibit flexibility, prioritization and the ability to multi-task
- Sound understanding of object-oriented, functional, and reactive programming principles
- Work with customers and business leaders to understand technical and business requirements
- Assess existing infrastructure and application architectures to guide recommendations
- Design and clearly communicate technical solutions, time and skill requirements to address application needs
- Lead implementation teams and provide architectural overview from the beginning to the end of a project
- Own and deliver cloud application design assignments, ensuring emphasis on customer satisfaction and referenceability
- Work with client development teams directly to help engineer highly available, more manageable application infrastructure in a cloud environment
- Create automated provisioning solutions for application load balancing based on actual consumption or schedule.
- Periodic travel to client sites for face to face meetings and presentations
Qualifications: - 10+ years of IT and Application architecture experience
- Prefer AWS Solution Architect certification
- Enterprise design patterns, application integration patterns and transformation paths from legacy solutions.
- Deep vertical technology expertise in the following areas:
- Application virtualization, hybrid cloud architectures, containers
- Infrastructure Provisioning and automation
- Networking concepts to help design robust applications
- Security and Authentication (Active Directory, Network, SAML)Business Continuity, High Availability
- PaaS service adoption & Databases, EKS, AKS etc
- Ability to articulate the value of cloud technologies as well as application transformation via embracing IT automation
- Ability to understand the proposed business model in identifying application and operational needs
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Prior experience with HiveMQ, AWS Infrastructure (IaaS, PaaS), Application Scaling
- Prefer experience with DevOps Automation with Ansible, Chef, Terraform
