Role:  Oracle Test Manager

Location:  Detroit

Duration:  4 months+ to start, hopefully with extension

Visa:  Open but No OPT

 

 Summary

The Test Manager Consultant leads the Testing Team for assigned projects.  The Test Manager Consultant takes full responsibility for the success of a project.  The role’s focus is on creating an effective testing process to ensure software and systems that are delivered are of acceptable quality, reliable, and have acceptable performance, all of which is intended to ensure highly satisfied customers.

 

 Responsibilities

  • Working with customer’s IT management to identify testers and test leads who will make up the project’s Testing Team.
  • Leading the Testing Team to successfully deliver software and systems that meet or exceed the quality standards for the project.
  • Develop and publish a Test Strategy that will achieve the quality goals for the project.
  • Defining the scope of testing within the context of each iteration or release.
  • Deploying and managing the testers and test leads during the testing of each iteration or release.
  • Creating a Test Plan for each iteration or release.
  • Assembling test scripts and creating test scenarios that ensure the requirements for each iteration or release are tested within the scope of time and budget.
  • Creating and gaining agreement with the project manager and customer IT management, the criteria for acceptable quality metrics for each iteration or release.
  • Communicating status of testing during each iteration test cycle.
  • Actively engages in opportunities to learn and develop, both in terms of own development and new technologies.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 – 10 years professional project or testing management experience in applications, software, hardware, and engineered systems solutions of increasing project size and complexity
  • At least 3 years professional experience with one or more Oracle solutions (e.g., EBS, ASCP, OCI, OIM, OAM, SOA, OBIEE, Hyperion, EDQ, WebCenter, Exadata, Oracle RDBMS, etc.)
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • Professional services consulting
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Testing management experience with large, complex ERP solutions (EBS, SAP) preferred
