Job Title: Technology Lead | Automated Testing | Test automation framework design
Work Location: San Jose, CA, 95101

Detailed JD –
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
● “Hands-on” Onsite Single point Technical contact at
○ Planning, driving and coordinating Test, release and Automation Delivery + Individually contributing to test & automation development, maintenance, execution activities
○ Coordinating any and all activities related to offshore team in INDIA ensuring timely and high quality deliverables from offshore teams.
● Collects-Understands-analyzes Technical and Business requirements of test, automation, estimates-refines-finalizes-communicates human, hardware and software resources & dependencies working with both 8x8 teams & offshore teams ensuring that technical delivery takes places with quality.
● Creates and Reviews test & automation Strategy, framework design, development, refinements
● Facilitate all operational logistics including access to tools, status reporting, schedule & drive technical and non-technical meetings with teams, tracking delivery, escalations as needed, ensuing that SDLC process is followed meeting needed compliance and delivery timelines.
● Creatively Design/Architect, Develop and Maintain - Scalable, Extendable, Efficient End-to-End Test Automation Framework and scripts that involves tight integration & frequent interactions among VoIP elements (Proxy, SBC, PBX, Media Mixer, Recorder), endpoints, desktop and mobile applications on Windows, Mac, Linux Android, iOS
● Independently analyze problems in VoIP & Networking domain related to SIP, SDP, RTP, RTCP, DTMF, SIP/TLS, SRTP, CODEC(Opus, G722, iLBC, G711), Audio quality
● Follow and improvise on current software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, Source Control Management, Build processes, Continuous Integration, Testing, and Deployment.
● Get business and Technical relation to specific use case / scenario - individually execute the scenario and as needed expand one liner test scenarios into fully documented test-steps, verification criteria, pass/fail criteria and provide insight to offshore team enabling effective automation of all the steps and verification criteria
● Ensure that Jenkins pipelines are created to integrate automated test runs for CI
● Document, Track, Triage issues in JIRA - follow JIRA lifecycle for defects
● Collaborate and participate in meetings and technical discussions
● Interact with Product Management, Project Management, Dev & QE teams to create a strong understanding of the business requirements, technical designs and automation testing objectives.
● Understanding requirements and reporting test & automation progress/results
● Proficient in end-to-end automation using - Java & Python, Selenium, Appium, VoIP tools, TestNG
● Create, build, upgrade, expand/maintain testbeds / test-environments in local/remote labs or cloud based labs
● Flexibility to adapt with changing priorities and work in fast paced, highly collaborative, dynamic work environment.
● Communicate effectively in both written & Verbal form
● A team player, self-motivated, eager to learn, result oriented, able to work independently when needed, have a strong attention to detail and be able to think “outside the box”
● Collaboration with customers and tool / platform vendors in getting resolution of issues
Minimum Qualifications:
● BS or MS in CS / EE / CE or equivalent related work experience
● Minimum 10 years of experience with VoIP Telephony, Desktop, Mobile apps, dashboards related functional, integration, End-to-End, performance testing & automation
● 4+ years of experience with building/utilizing industry standard test automation frameworks from the ground up for VoIP telephony, Desktop and Mobile apps using Java & Python
○ Hands on experience in developing common test scripts
● 4+ years of most recent experience in VoIP telephony release testing and automation experience
○ framework/Suites/Scripts development, Integration with Jenkins, Parallel execution on large set of devices/desktops in public/private cloud,
● 2+ years of experience designing automated tests in Cucumber / Specflow.
● Expert in SIP, RTP, RTCP, SIP/TLS, SRTP, CODEC(Opus, G722, iLBC, G711), Audio-Video quality scoring standards.
● Experience with scripting languages including, but not limited to: Bash, Python, Perl
● Experience in Web Services automation tools/API using RestAssured.
● Experience with Jenkins, GitLab, Git, JIRA, TestRails
● Sound knowledge of Manual & Automation Testing best practices in QE
● Proficient in Linux (For backend), Windows, Mac
● Working knowledge with most of the following: Communication domain, VoIP, Wireshark (or other similar tools), backend applications, relational (SQL) and nonrelational (NoSQL) databases, testing client/server architectures
● Experience in Test and automation for VoIP endpoints like Polycom, Cisco, Yealink, Panasomic. Audio-Codes
