BizTalk Administrator
5 years or more of BizTalk administration experience in a production environment including installation, configuration (e.g. scale-out/clustered configurations) and performance tuning/optimization.
Overview
BizTalk administrators play a crucial role in running and maintaining a BizTalk environment. They are responsible to deploy BizTalk environments and applications, monitoring, upgrades, migrations, and all other kinds of administrative tasks like backup/recovery, availability and so on
Skills and Responsibilities:
BizTalk Server 2009/2013/2016, SQL Server 2012/2016, SCOM, WCF, .Net, C# etc.
The BizTalk Administrator has the overall responsibility of monitoring and optimizing BizTalk performance and health, managing risk and recommending and implementing preventative measures
Responsibility includes
Platform Modifications like hosts, adapters, Messagebox databases, BizTalk groups etc
Platform Monitoring like BizTalk Server platform exceptions, debug application errors, manage load across BizTalk Server group.
Release Management includes deployment and updating BizTalk Applications and Services like WCF etc. and any other related artifacts or updates.
Operations Support includes Security administration, support new services solutions, Application support, change management, configuration management, security administration, service monitoring and control, job scheduling, storage management etc
Proactively monitor health of BizTalk servers and take appropriate preventative actions
Check BizTalk database sizes and the sizes of all the tables
Check suspended and dehydrated instances
Confirm the BizTalk SQL Agent jobs are executing as they should.
Develop tools, metrics, and reports to effectively monitor BizTalk server health
Effectively troubleshoot using tools such as BizTalk Admin Console, Terminator, PAL, MsgBoxViewer, PerfMon, SQL Profiler, Event Viewer, IIS logs, etc. to solve issues with WCF, IIS (including slowness), slow file import performance, file import map issues/data truncation, bottlenecks in the system such as with SQL Server
Perform problem resolution and root cause analysis, spot trends and recommend and implement preventive techniques
Provide technical consulting in identifying, implementing and supporting new BizTalk functions
Ensure standardization of systems implementation, support techniques, and adherence to formal processes, change control, best practices, and total quality practices in all activities
Attend TDA and any required governance sessions
SCOM experience is plus
Expertise in ESB tool kit
