Must Have Skills:
Required industry experience:
 
·        5 to 7 years’ experience in VMware and ESX server technologies
 
Required technical experience:
 
·        5 Years minimum experience in administrating Vmware, Esxi 5+,6+ and vCenter servers.
·        Good understanding of HA, DRS and FT environment.
·        Experience in Dell EMC Vxrail converged environment.
·        Set-up of resource pools and a VMware Distributed Resources Scheduler (DRS) cluster, Resource Management, Resource Monitoring.
·        Set-up of a VMware High Availability (HA) cluster and proven experience in ESX Server Installations and configurations.
·        Configuration of virtual switches, network connections and port groups Configure Storage.
·        Demonstrable experience in Upgrade Esx platform environment
·        Support Level 3 OS monitoring Client Software, Backup and Recovery client, Client Software, automated Security, health checking client, OS monitoring
·        Security in a VMware Virtualized Environment
·        Experience in P2V, VMotion and VMware virtual center
·        Expertise in Scripting like Shell scripting and Script ESX Server deployments for remote installation
·        Knowledge on Storage concepts
·        Good understanding of Security and Networking and NSX concepts
·        Experience installing OS, managing domain user accounts and managing server farms
·        Experience with IBM, HP, Dell and Cisco (UCS) server hardware and management tools.
 
Detailed Job Description:
·        Supports the day to day availability and performance of operational support systems including the ability to troubleshoot and isolate moderate to complex system/application issues for VMware ESXi Server and hardware.
·        Proposes and implements complex system enhancements (software and hardware updates) that will improve the performance and reliability of virtual environment
·        Supports the rollout of complex projects that impact operational support systems. Installing, configuring, and testing different produce sets on VMware
·        Monitors system performance, and manages the development environment setup. Helps to mentor more junior Administrative team members.
·        Configures, manages, and supports Virtual machine backups running on, Avamar, and NetBackup and perform storage and capacity management running on storage environment EMC, HP, Hitachi Storage Management platform and recovers systems and files, as required.
·        Provides 24x7 support on a rotating basis is required and responsible for performing the job in accordance Client vision and values
·        Roles and responsibilities:
·        Perform virtual Environment performance tuning, problem resolution, storage administration, security administration, capacity planning, policy administration, change management, disaster recovery, backup planning and systems analysis
·        Handle and prioritize workloads migrations across multiple client projects and work effectively in a time critical environment
·        Evaluates resource requirements for VMware products
·        Scripts complex procedures and processes for automation
·        Mentor lower experiences technicians as well as serve as primary contact for Application Owners of key systems
·        Troubleshooting hardware and software issues and documenting results
·        Develops and maintains operational guidelines for the maintenance and support of the virtual infrastructure
·        Reviews existing technology, configuration, and implements improvements and upgrades.
·        Manage and perform patch and software distributions, and manage security configuration of the systems.
·        Provide reports for system health, configuration and capacity. Perform routine maintenance and apply software updates
·        Provides guidance to client management for changes related to virtual infrastructure
·        Exercises independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance with broad scope and high complexity
·        Preparation of root cause analysis documentation and follow-up communication.
·        Adhere to SLAs and make sure all incidents and requested are resolved within the SLA

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:
 
·        Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
·        MCSE, MCSA certification (preferred)
