Role: Architect - Java, J2EE Work Location: Greater Hartford Connecticut region (Windsor, CT/East Hartford, CT) Duration: 12+ Months Start Date: ASAP Rate: Open Only US Citizens or Green Card Holders will be considered Job Description: Key responsibilities will include: - Planning, analyzing and defining solutions for complex legacy systems through technical expertise
- Ensures the consistency and maintainability of Technical Solutions by creating, maintaining, and enforcing standards/procedures for implementing the technical solutions.
- Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies and processes to ensure the highest quality product platform
- Collaborates with stakeholders to understand project requirements and communicate implementation methodology, project milestones and system functionality
- Acts as subject matter expert and makes recommendations to the Virtusa internal teams and client stakeholders
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to development team in design and implementation software components.
- Reviews all designs, code and unit test plans.
- Prepare development estimates, respond to RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs
- Assists in tracking the progress of the development to ensure established goals are met and ensure on-time delivery.
Required Skills: - Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
- 10+ years of complete SDLC experience with at least 5+ years of experience in leading and migrating complex legacy solutions into J2EE/Microservices based architecture
- Strong J2EE background with experience in JDBC, JMS, JAXB, JAX-RS and REST standards.
- Strong development and design experience using Spring Framework, Hibernate, Angular JS, React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS.
- Experience on defining and implementing CD/CI Process
- Possess in-depth knowledge of ORM solutions and experience with Oracle, SQL / PL-SQL
- Familiarity with server architectures, Cloud, Microservices, and distributed systems
- Experience in following agile methodology and/or working in scrum teams
Nice to Have - Containers and Orchestration tools like Docker Swarm, Kubernates or Apache Mesos
- Experience in Manufacturing Vertical
