Job Title: Senior Mainframe Developer
Location: Remote for now (Alpharetta, GA / Lower Manhattan, NY)
Duration: 12 Months Contract
Job Description:
Candidate should have 10+ years of overall experience in Information Technology
Candidate should have 6 to 8 years of Mainframe Cobol experience building Cobol CICS and Batch applications.
Candidates should be proficient in reading JCL and drawing process flows from these JCL job streams that include the execution of Cobol code summary as well as the ability to concisely list out the data objects in use.
Primary focus should be on extracting logic from the Cobol programs and putting it into easy-to-understand definitions or rules so that this can be interpreted for building gnu Java camel interfaces to replace Cobol modules.
Candidate should have the ability to introspect DB2 programs start procedures schemas to be able to provide summary insights into the processing as well as rules that execute against the data.
Some experience with VSAM sequential files and mainframe record formats is essential to be able to describe at the high level the summary of the processing against these objects.
Should be familiar with using standard mainframe tooling, program listings and translated these to high level Rules that can be implemented in Java.
Must be self-sufficient in doing the analysis required to create a complete summary are of the functionality and capability of Cobol programs that he or she will be introspecting to extract business rules which will need to be implemented into Java/Camel Services.
