MS Fabric Platform Engineer & DevSecOps Engineer

Location: Hanover, New Hampshire

10 to 12 years of experience

Long term Contract(H1B, H4EAD)

We are seeking an experienced MS Fabric Platform Engineer & DevSecOps Engineer to design, implement, administer, secure, and optimize enterprise Microsoft Fabric environments. The role combines Microsoft Fabric platform engineering, Azure cloud engineering, DevSecOps automation, security, governance, monitoring, and reliability engineering.

The engineer will work closely with Data Engineers, Architects, Security Teams, DevOps teams, and business stakeholders to establish scalable, secure, reliable, and governed data and analytics platforms.


1. Platform Engineering & Administration

  • Design, deploy, and manage enterprise Microsoft Fabric environments.
  • Administer Fabric capacities, workspaces, OneLake, and platform configurations.
  • Establish platform standards, governance frameworks, and operational procedures.
  • Build reusable deployment frameworks and patterns for Fabric workloads.
  • Manage platform scalability, performance optimization, and capacity planning.
  • Implement high availability, resiliency, disaster recovery, and business continuity capabilities.
  • Support enterprise data and analytics platform modernization initiatives.

2. DevSecOps & Automation

  • Design and implement enterprise DevSecOps frameworks for Microsoft Fabric.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and Azure workloads.
  • Automate environment provisioning, deployments, monitoring, and governance activities.
  • Integrate security controls throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management practices.
  • Establish automated testing and deployment validation processes.
  • Drive shift-left security and Policy as Code adoption.
  • Develop reusable automation frameworks and deployment patterns.

3. Microsoft Fabric Operations

Manage and support the following Microsoft Fabric workloads:

  • OneLake
  • Fabric Data Factory
  • Fabric Lakehouse
  • Fabric Data Warehouse
  • Fabric Data Engineering
  • Fabric Real-Time Analytics
  • Fabric Notebooks
  • Fabric Data Science
  • Power BI

Additional responsibilities:

  • Monitor Fabric capacity utilization and workload performance.
  • Optimize platform resource consumption and cloud costs.
  • Manage release processes across Development, QA, UAT, and Production environments.
  • Implement backup, recovery, and business continuity procedures.
  • Troubleshoot platform, workload, deployment, and performance issues.
  • Establish operational standards for Fabric platform administration.

4. Security & Compliance

  • Implement enterprise security controls and governance frameworks.
  • Configure Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and least-privilege access models.
  • Integrate Microsoft Entra ID with Microsoft Fabric and Azure services.
  • Implement secrets management and credential rotation policies.
  • Support regulatory compliance, security audits, and governance requirements.
  • Perform security assessments, vulnerability management, and remediation activities.
  • Implement data protection, encryption, and security monitoring solutions.
  • Establish security policies and access governance across Fabric environments.

5. Cloud Engineering

  • Design and support Azure-based platform infrastructure supporting Microsoft Fabric workloads.
  • Implement cloud-native Azure services and solutions.
  • Manage networking, security boundaries, and private connectivity.
  • Support multi-environment deployment strategies across Dev, QA, UAT, and Production.
  • Implement secure and scalable Azure infrastructure.
  • Enable platform observability, automation, resiliency, and operational excellence.

6. Monitoring & Reliability Engineering

  • Establish end-to-end platform monitoring, alerting, and health checks.
  • Implement logging, tracing, metrics, and operational dashboards.
  • Monitor platform health, reliability, SLA, and performance KPIs.
  • Identify and resolve capacity, performance, availability, and operational issues.
  • Lead incident management, root cause analysis, and remediation activities.
  • Develop reliability engineering practices for Fabric and Azure platforms.
  • Drive continuous improvement, automation, and operational efficiency.

7. Collaboration & Technical Leadership

  • Partner with Data Engineers, Solution Architects, Security Teams, DevOps Teams, and Business Stakeholders.
  • Define engineering standards, deployment frameworks, governance controls, and operational procedures.
  • Mentor Platform Engineers and DevOps team members.
  • Lead platform architecture reviews and technical design discussions.
  • Conduct security reviews and operational readiness assessments.
  • Establish best practices for platform engineering, DevSecOps, security, and reliability.
  • Provide technical leadership for Microsoft Fabric modernization and transformation initiatives.
