Position: SQL Developer
Location: Remote
Duration: 6+ months
VISA; USC, GC, GCEAD,
Location: Fully Remote- Pacific Time zone (some flexibility down the road)
Duration: 6- months initially (potential for extension and conversion)
Current Key Project- Need for the Role: (Years of experience: 3-5 years, flexible) Cleaning up support tickets, the backlog is 40 tickets. Looking for someone who can jump in to take care of support tickets and documentation urgently and traditional quality assurance
Background on the Team:
What are they doing? They are working on developing an internal-facing web application that allows business users to securely interact with Starbucks Partner data. They are building out a platform that empowers people in the business to have access to partner (employee) data and analytics. They work closely with other teams and business segments such as HR, partner development as well as in-store managers. This team ultimately rolls up to support the Technology Services organization for Starbucks.
Daily Responsibilities: "Tier 1/Tier 2 QA support"
- Working in ServiceNow (Support Ticket Portal)
- Handling Tickets (Examples: Could be tracking down permissions based on org hierarchy structure, digging into database systems to check data discrepancies that the users are visualizing, checking into run-time bugs, data related problems)
Info about the Ticketing Work:
- 60% of tickets are related to permissions tickets (understanding the org hierarchy)
- 30% Data issues (the reports are not giving the users what they need)
- 10% Front-end bug issues- (Users see the page didn't load, they receive an error message)
What do they need:
- SQL experience (being able to execute queries at the Tier 1/Tier 2 QA support level)
- Modern observability tools like Datadog (or similar tools)
- Strong Customer Service- They will be dealing with internal customers (leadership, managers, store managers, etc.)
- They have a longer vision for someone who can progress to a more technical level to an SRE/QA/Development role
Must Haves:
- SQL (executing queries)
- ServiceNow (or similar ticketing tools- experience handling tickets, creating documentation, detail-oriented, etc.)
- DataDog (or other modern observability tools)- being able to find errors in the SQL queries
Team Tech Stack on the Development Side- If candidates have this that is a big plus for those who may grow into but not necessarily a must-have:
