Lead the Charge: Establish and implement robust processes and automation strategies leveraging Azure cloud services to maintain a secure, scalable, and highly available production environment.
System Monitoring & Security: Proactively monitor system health, identify security vulnerabilities, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. Integrate Azure diagnostics and monitoring tools for comprehensive system insights and security issue remediation.
Automation & Efficiency: Develop automated responses to common alerts, reducing manual intervention while incorporating security checks, vulnerability scans, and code health evaluations.
Incident Management: Collaborate with service development teams to create and maintain incident response runbooks, ensuring a streamlined approach to issue resolution, including security breaches.
Troubleshooting Expertise: Diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure, security, and application performance issues to enhance the developer experience.
Reliability & Best Practices: Design and advocate for patterns and best practices that enhance system reliability, security, and scalability within the engineering production team.
Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing: Review and contribute to technical specifications and implementations, fostering knowledge sharing and security awareness within the team.
Optimization & Scalability: Identify bottlenecks in workflows, tooling, and Azure infrastructure, leading the development of solutions that improve performance, security, and scalability.
Developer Support: Provide technical guidance on tools, infrastructure, security best practices, containerization (Docker), and code health principles.
Cloud Integration: Champion the use of Azure services such as App Services, AKS, Storage Account, Cosmos DB, App Gateway, and VPN for efficient application deployment and management.
Education:
Bachelor's degree (BS) in Computer Science or Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
Master's degree (MS) in Computer Science or Engineering with 4 years of experience.
Ph.D. in Computer Science or equivalent work experience may be considered as a substitute.
Experience & Skills:
Proven experience in leading and managing DevOps and SRE teams.
Strong understanding of cloud computing platforms, particularly Azure and AWS security services.
Hands-on experience with Azure diagnostics and monitoring tools.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Go, or JavaScript, along with Shell scripting.
Solid foundation in Linux (or UNIX) operating systems.
Experience in operating and scaling software systems in cloud environments with a focus on security, scalability, and code health.
Deep understanding of storage and networking concepts, including security considerations.
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Ansible and GitOps methodologies.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, including security vulnerability assessments and root cause analysis.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams.
Leadership qualities to motivate and guide engineers, fostering a security-conscious, cloud-centric, and high-code-health culture.
