Position Summary

 

The Oracle Database Administrators is part of the Application Management team with a group of PeopleSoft System Administrators, Oracle DBAs and Release Management Engineers reporting to the Application Management Team Lead for the project. This role is responsible for supporting and maintaining a live PeopleSoft HCM system integrated with InFlight/Drupal Portal, IDM, OBIEE and SOA as well as a next wave of project efforts to integrate additional entities. The duties are performed in coordination and in partnership with various internal IT teams and vendor managed services on Oracle Cloud.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

•    Bachelor’s degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training

•    5+ years of Oracle database administration experience with multiple enterprise level applications with internal and external integrations

•    Oracle database upgrade experience

•    Hands-on knowledge of 

-    Oracle Database 11g+

-    Oracle Enterprise Manager

-    RMAN

-    Data Pump

-    PL/SQ

-    Database sizing and performance tuning

•    Working knowledge and experience with 

-    Data Guard

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

•    Oracle database certification

•    PeopleSoft Application and PeopleTools upgrade experience

•    Hands-on knowledge of 

o    PeopleSoft 9.1+

o    PeopleTools 8.5+

o    Integration Broker

o    Component Interface

o    Oracle 11g+

•    Experience working with cloud-based service providers

•    Experience working with ServiceNow

•    Experience working with Dell STAT

•    Experience working with HP Application Lifecycle Management (ALM)

 

Responsibilities:

 

•    Collaborate with various teams (development team, testing team, training team, integration team, etc.) to provide support and help resolve issues in a timely manner

•    Coordinate and oversee work assigned to vendor managed services for timely execution and with accuracy

•    Monitor and remediate system and performance issues

•    Monitor, respond and resolve incidents and change requests via ServiceNow

•    Anticipate, organize and plan system maintenance for implementation

•    Analyze complex problems and develop resolution

•    Develop Unix and SQL scripts and schedule via Cron

•    Perform on-call support rotation (approx. 1 week a month)

•    DB backup management 

•    DB restore using PIT (point in time) 

•    DB refreshes using DataPump, Snapshot, RMAN
