Description: Responsible for the design and development of medium to highly complex systems. Skills include system design and analysis as well as business skills. Works with data and project managers to understand systems and consults with customers to understand needs. Developments and implements new systems, corrects software errors in existing systems, and works to improve performance through hardware upgrades. Manages computer systems in a business environment and responsible for resolving technical issues. Knowledgeable in programming, data structures, computer systems, and software engineering. Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or other related field. Ability to manage multiple assignments. Superior written and oral communication skills. 6-10+ years of experience.
This position is within Network Systems. The selected candidate will work on Network Planning applications related to spatial data and mapping. These applications are used to analyze Client's wireless coverage. Previous experience and/or exposure to Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is highly desirable.
The selected candidate will be responsible for adding features/functionality/fixes to Network Planning applications and APIs using Java, JavaScript, Python and SQL. The successful candidate will possess an excellent understanding of front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Java and associated frameworks. The successful candidate must also demonstrate strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and/or other database technologies.
MUST HAVE SKILLS:
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* The selected candidate will be adaptable and will demonstrate an ability to learn
* Experience in designing professional full-stack applications using JavaScript and Java frameworks / PostgreSQL
* Experience with Big Data technologies, such as Hadoop, Spark, and Elasticsearch
* Experience with designing and building microservice APIs
* Practical experience using AWS services (e.g. EC2, RDS)
* Knowledge of CI/CD processes and automated build tools (e.g. Git/Stash, Jenkins, Jira, Maven)
* Hands-on installation experience with Apache / Tomcat / HA Proxy.
* In depth understanding of the entire web development process including design, development, and deployment
* Experience with unit testing frameworks
* Relational database - performing and integrating complex joins and queries using PostgreSQL
* Experience with Linux and Windows servers
HIGHLY DESIRABLE SKILLS:
* Experience with Python 2.x / 3.x
* Experience with, or exposure to, Esri ArcGIS server and tools
* Experience with spatial functions in PostgreSQL (PostGIS extension)
* Experience with OSGeo tools and libraries - e.g. GDAL, QGIS, Mapserver - this is a BIG PLUS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
B.S. Computer Science, Geospatial Sciences or Applied Mathematics M.S. preferred
