SaaS Contract Specialist

Location: Vernon Hills, Downtown Chicago or Reston VA location (Must be local to any of these 3 areas)

 

Role Overview

The IBM SaaS Contract Specialist position is focused on understanding the current status of IBM SaaS contracts and advising client Account Managers with recommendations on the best next steps to maintain the health of the existing SaaS contracts. Due to these activities the SaaS Contract Specialists will have indirect day-to-day contact with the sales force and customers. The IBM SaaS Contract Specialist role is also responsible for maintaining the correct on time billing of the SaaS contracts to the End User. The IBM SaaS Contract Specialist will also need to develop and maintain relationships with our distributor and IBM to improve the current SaaS auto renewal process.

 

Key Areas of Responsibility

               Conduct conference calls and present customer SaaS contract information as necessary.

               Responsible for reviewing quotes and orders to minimize RMAs and identify potential add-on opportunities.

               Obtain relevant industry certifications and attend approved outside training.

               Daily tracking of interactions with an Account Managers, training and other time-consuming activities.

               Work with other departments to further relationships with customers, Partners, and Account Managers.

               Respond to SaaS renewal inquiries from Account Managers

               Attend Vendor specific and SaaS Auto Renewal Specialist related training

               Maintain business relationships with IBM

               Respond to email, phone, or WebEx inquiries from Account Managers and customers regarding their expiring SaaS contracts

               Manage lead lists/renewal portals to maximize time, effort and sales

 

Essential Function Time Allocation:

               40% Research of existing contracts

               20% Explaining Contracts to customers

               20% Fixing issues with Distribution and IBM

               10% Document and organize all steps for future needs

               10% Processing Transactions in client systems

 

Responsibilities

               Identify key accounts and prioritize based on renewal date ?           Develop a renewal strategy and tracking documentation for expiring renewals

               Manage pipeline of contracts, quotes, and orders

               Develop innovative, new ways to reach renewable opportunities

               Work hand in hand with the sales and IBM BDS to set correct expectations

               Be responsive to IBM, distribution, Account Managers, and customers

               Attend external training and conferences (Manager’s approval)

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

               Bachelor’s degree or 2 years industry experience in a pre-sales consultation role.

               2+ yrs experience in Channel Marketing or Channel Sales.

               3+ yrs experience or a defined type of proficiency with Microsoft Office and computers

 

Other Required Qualifications

               Highly organized an process driven.

               Ability to have very direct and focused conversations multiple times a day.

               Intermediate Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite – Specifically Excel

               Outgoing personality.

               Motivated and self starting.

               Ability to think creatively and come up with proactive ideas.

               Strong problem solving skills ?      Must be able to communicate effectively and in a constructive manner with management, peers and coworkers.

               Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to maintain a professional relationship with all departments.

               Ability to prioritize work and work accurately under pressure of deadlines with frequent interruptions
