Requirements:

Essential Responsibilities

Advise and drive the design of the solution.

Install and administer IBM DB2 software and all related 3rd-party components on AWS during this short initiative.

Tune system parameters and resources to maximize performance and capacity.

Weigh in on DB2 replication, availability and recovery strategies

Perform problem analysis and resolution as needed

Qualifications:

5+ years IBM DB2 experience, with advanced knowledge of:

Tablespace/Page structures

Replication/Backup/recovery/logging facilities and strategies

Bufferpool/memory management

DB2 locking

ZPARMS

DB2 tracing

3+ years of managing an environment with IBM DB2 and IBM System Z experience and hands-on experience with both, with extensive knowledge of:

IBM DB2 utilities

Experience with DB2 z/OS as a distributed server

Associated Networking concepts

Workload management

Hands on experience installing and configuring CDC for DB2, ideally in a z/OS environment, and knowledge of different approaches and their pros and cons

Experience designing mission critical solutions

Additional Skills Preferred

Designing and implementing a realtime replication solution from DB2 to a non-DB2 DB or other system

Experience installing, configuring, and tuning MQ

Experience working and administering services in AWS

Awareness of Java, web services, and Salesforce concepts
