Job Description:

Competencies:

  • Expert literacy in front-end development (particularly around responsive design, designing across multiple channels and browser types) is preferred.
  • Strong vision for mobile Internet consumer products, a clear understanding of usability, user-centred design, accessibility and web standards.
  • Writing standards-compliant front-end code for websites, web applications, and mobile solutions using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • Practical exposure and/or experience with AngularJS, jQuery, JSON, AJAX.
  • Familiarity with code versioning systems (SVN, GIT) Familiarity with agile methodology and Scrum.
  • Solid understanding of user-centred design principles. Expertise with cross-browser, cross-platform, and design constraints on the web.
  • Excellent communication skills (you should be able to clearly articulate your design/coding decisions).
  • Experience designing wireframes, developing user cases and mapping user flows. Experience with best practices in Web design.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams. Experience presenting UX recommendations.

Education:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field Work Experience: Strong portfolio of work (at least 3 years) showing experience developing standards-compliant front-end code for marketing websites, web applications, and/or mobile experiences

Accountabilities:

  • Develop mobile and cross-browser compatible responsive front-end interfaces using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and JQuery as well as frameworks like bootstrap or Foundation.
  • Hands on experience with AngularJS, Node.js, AJAX, REST, JSON, and XML. Good understanding of page speed optimization principles and tools.
  • Extensive experience in using UX best practices to design and develop solutions, and a deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design.
  • As the project evolves, the UX Designer/Developer will design, code the markup, conduct user testing, and perform other user-facing activities to validate the design, and interaction.
  • Lead new user interface designs through the full design and development cycle (including concepts, information architecture, visual design and interaction design)
  • Design and prototype interfaces for iOS and Android. Provide guidance on incorporating user research methodologies into the product design and development lifecycles
  • Conceptualize new design solutions - bringing them to life through wireframes, rapid prototypes, and final designs and templates.
  • Create and apply brand frameworks within product lines and across the entire portfolio, ensuring a cohesive brand experience for customers.
  • Create, maintain and improve a Standard Style guide and interaction pattern library for the team. Know your way around project management, including juggling multiple parts of a project and keeping up to date with all the moving parts.
  • Collaborate with teams across the organization and the company to ensure we maintain industry leadership, and deliver innovative and exciting designs that meet Company's business goals. Ensure site architecture and site optimization strategy keep pace with evolving practices
