C++ Engineer...Urgent Req

This person must have strong experience with C++ (versions 11 and 14) and good experience in creating libraries. They will be tested on this before the interview.

 

we have a Boulder, Colorado client with an immediate and long term contract need for an experienced C++ engineer. This position has the responsibility and authority to develop software for medical devices used in the field of Neurosurgery.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Designing, developing, testing and documenting software components and applications. 
• Leading requirements gathering, estimating, and planning efforts. 
• Interfacing with mechanical, electrical, systems, and test engineers. 
• Troubleshooting, debugging, maintaining, and supporting existing software products. 
• Supporting labs and surgical evaluations of products. 
• Representing the company at industry trade shows and customer sites. 
• Participating in and leading on-going professional development activities. 
• Following client product development standards and practices. 
• Identifying and implementing process improvements. 
• Willingness and ability to assume increased responsibility. 
• Effectively leading development teams. 
• Occasional domestic and international travel may be required. 
• All activities must be performed in compliance with the Quality System. 
• Performs duties in compliance with environmental, health and safety related site rules, policies or governmental regulations. 
• All other duties as assigned. 
• Travel requirement: 10-20% 

 

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 
• 4+ years of software development experience with B.S./B.A, M.S./M.A. or PhD 


SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: 
• Expert programming in C++, C# and the .NET framework 
• Strong knowledge of software design, development, debug and test practices. 
• Expert knowledge of software design including OOA/OOD and design patterns. 
• Expert developing medium to large size, modern C++ applications/libraries. 
• Expert developing modern GUI applications. 
• Experience with other languages: Python, bash, Go, Java. 
• Experience with development on GNU/Linux platform and Windows 
• Experience with knowledge of modern, iterative software design processes and development practices (Scrum, Scaled Agile Framework, Test Driven Development). 
• Project management skills, including planning, estimation and requirements management. 
• Expertise in one or more of the following: modern C++, Boost, Qt/QML, OpenGL, git, Continuous Integration.”
