Job Description:
The Senior Data Analyst will identify and formally document business requirements for healthcare data analytics and reporting initiatives for the Florida market of HealthCare Partners.  
This position requires a full understanding of healthcare data (e.g. membership, claims, clinical and provider data).  
The Senior Data Analyst will demonstrate advanced skills and be recognized as a thought leader by peers and throughout the organization.
The Senior Data Analyst position requires a full understanding of healthcare practice management and a solid understanding of Business Intelligence solutions and Data Warehouse methodologies.  
Ultimately, this position will be responsible for establishing solid data requirements for the Florida market.  This position will report to the Manager, Enterprise Information Management.
Duties & Responsibilities:                                                                                                                                         
•    Consistently exhibit behavior and communication skills that demonstrate client’s commitment to superior customer service, including quality, care and concern with each and every internal and external customer.
•    Facilitate stakeholder meetings, using advanced skills to effectively gather requirements and create clear documentation of Functional, and Non-Functional Business Requirements.
•    Work with the project team (both technical and business) to ensure requirements are accurate, clear and understood by those participating in the project.
•    Lead work efforts and instruct others in the process of eliciting business requirements, including detailed business process and the implications.
•    Meet with business and technical teams to discuss functional design concepts and alternatives necessary to meet requirements.
•    Take responsibility for data quality. Understand the implications of technology and process changes on data quality; provide guidance to business and IT related to data quality.  Recommend processes and technologies that support high data quality.
•    Analyze requirements and document Source to Target Mappings, ETL processes and crosswalks.
•    Help define acceptance test objectives, test cases and assist in system and integration testing.
•    Assist in evaluating software change requests, which may involve conducting root cause analysis to confirm business need for changes and alternatives.
•    Work closely with end-users during User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and document issues and defects.
•    Provide timely, comprehensive verbal and written status reports.
•    Partner with IT and Business teams to capture, track, and resolve data and reporting issues.
•    Use, protect, and disclose DaVita HCP patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.
 
Education:          
•    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar required.

Minimum Qualifications:
•    8+ years of Data Analyst experience.
•    2+ years working knowledge in a Data Warehouse/BI environment, ETL tool skills a strong plus.
•    2+ years working knowledge of Healthcare Medical group business areas (clinical, operations, care management).
•    Strong SQL skills and full understanding of querying relational databases.
•    Experience with data quality and profiling tools.
•    Full understanding of the CMS capitation model and the required datasets that support it.
•    Experience documenting detailed requirements, design documents, and workflows in support of BI or sophisticated reporting capabilities.
•    Ability to build trust and create a strong working relationship with business customers.
•    Ability to extract and manipulate data from multiple data sources using MS SQL.
•    Experience with contemporary Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies such as Agile.
•    Driven by a fast-paced, energetic, results-oriented environment.
•    Ability to work with data warehouse and BI developers in formulating recommendations, strategies, and tactics based on analyses.
•    Must be a self-starter and able to work independently or lead teammates as needed.
•    Must have excellent listening and documentation skills.
•    Demonstrated self-direction with excellent organizational, analytical, writing, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
•    10% Travel Required
