Job title: Teradata DBA

Job location (City, State)- Scottsdale, AZ -Remote

Duration for this position – 6 months extendable

 

 

Job Description:

• Installs, upgrades, and maintains database systems.Supports system storage for the databases and applications.

• Installs and maintains database server, replication,and client environments. Develops, reviews, and tunes scripts, triggers, andstore procedures. Provides production and project support.

• Assists with production incidents and resolutions,including root cause analysis and recommendations. Implements databasereporting and continuous improvement.

• Executes performance monitoring, reporting, andtuning of database systems. Supports and maintains back‐ups and recoveryprocess and procedures.

• Assists in the design of database structures,packages, and procedures. Manages security access and controls.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering orrelated field or experience.

• Min 7-8 years of database administration experiencein a commercial environment, or prior relevant experience.

• Experience in Teradata is must

 

PREFERRED:

• Experience in Teradata logging configuration (DBQL,PDCR, etc.)

• Experience in Teradata User, Objects and Securityaccess management.

• Experience in usage of Teradata Data Dictionaryobjects.

• Experience in analysing data objects as well assystem objects.

• Experience in system performance monitoring usingTeradata Viewpoint.

• Experience in backup and recovery of databasesystems.

• Experience in T-SQL stored procedures & exposureto query tuning.

• Experience with the following: Golden Gate Software;MS Clustering or Oracle RAC; SAN Tech; AD Security; Data Warehousing / DataReplication; Microsoft SSIS; Microsoft Terminal Server; AS400.

• Experience of working in an environment where an ETLtool, preferably DataStage, is used to load Teradata

• Experience with Teradata in a cloud environment.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Ability and knowledge with relational database anddata storage concepts.

• Knowledge of Teradata Tools and Utilities like BTEQ,TPT, Tpump, FastLoad, MultiLoad and exposure to Teradata Utilities.

• Good working knowledge on UNIX shell scripting.

• Knowledge of Teradata, Microsoft SQL Server orOracle.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Transact‐SQL, PL/SQL, orTeradata SQL.

• Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio2012/2014/2016 and above, Oracle 11g/12c, or Teradata Studio.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2012 and above,UNIX, Oracle Exadata, or AIX.

• Good working knowledge on UNIX shell scripting.

• Knowledge of Teradata, Microsoft SQL Server orOracle.

• Good communication skills
