Role: Snowflake Data Engineer
Location: Chicago, IL (Day-1 must report in office), 3 days to work from Chicago office/ week.
Duration – Contract
Primary Skills: Snowflake, Data engineering, Oracle, or Teradata, Very strong in SQL, ETL
Secondary skills: Python, R, BI Tools
Job Description:
• 10+ years of experience in IT and 8+ years of experience in Data related projects.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience designing and implementing a full-scale data warehouse solution based on Snowflake.
• Experience with complex data warehouse solutions on Teradata, Oracle, or DB2 platforms with 2 years of hands-on experience
• Building a data architecture that is planned, created, and maintained in a systematic manner, and aligned with business needs.
• Collecting data from suitable sources before any work on the database can begin.
• Expertise and excellent proficiency with Snowflake internals and integration of Snowflake with other technologies for data processing and reporting
• Providing technical guidance to data engineers and data analysts in their day-to-day activities
• Working in the architecture and development of an event-driven data warehouse, streaming, batch, data modeling, and storage
• Reviewing pulls requests and scripts for production development
• Having detailed expertise in SQL databases
• Engineers analyze data and identify manual tasks that can be automated to reduce manual effort.
• Implementing ETL pipelines within and outside of a data warehouse using Python and Snowflakes Snow SQL
• Querying Snowflake using SQL.
• Development of scripts using Unix, Python, etc. for loading, extracting, and transforming data
• Assist with production issues in Data Warehouses like reloading data, transformations, and translations.
• Develop a Database Design and Reporting Design based on Business Intelligence and Reporting requirements.
• Working knowledge of ETL and BI tools
• Experience in Data Analysis
• A highly effective communicator, both orally and in writing
