Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Governance Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data governance principles and hands-on experience with data governance tools, particularly Alation and Monte Carlo. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining data governance processes and frameworks, leveraging these tools to ensure data quality, compliance, and overall data management excellence.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and enforce data governance best practices.
  • Conduct data quality assessments, identify data issues, and implement remediation plans.
  • Utilize Alation's data catalog capabilities to enhance data discovery and data lineage.
  • Leverage Monte Carlo for
  • Establish and monitor data governance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Work closely with data stewards and data owners to ensure compliance with data governance policies and standards.
  • Provide training and guidance to end-users on data governance practices and tools.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate Alation and Monte Carlo with other data management and analytics platforms.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies in data governance and recommend improvements to the data governance program.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience (3+Yrs) in data governance roles, preferably with hands-on experience using Alation/Profisee/Collibra/Monte Carlo.
  • Good understanding of modern enterprise data management (Data Lakehouse, Data Democratization, Data Observability etc.) leveraging cloud data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, PowerBI, Azure Data platform
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles, data management best practices, and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Familiarity with data cataloging, data lineage, and data quality concepts.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data querying and analysis.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Certifications in data governance, data management, or related fields are a plus.
  • Knowledge of Airlines domain is a plus.
