We are currently seeking a qualified candidate for a new role with the State of Alabama. The position will require the candidate to be onsite in Montgomery, AL. The position is budgeted for 12 months and has the strong possibility for extensions. I am listing the job description below for your review. Candidate must have .NET Experience. Position Description Purpose: To gather, communicate, document and test system requirements to ensure that system/system deliverables meet specifications and satisfy the needs of the business users and associated stakeholders with no negative impact to existing environment functionality. Job Duties: • Collaborate with IT project lead, technical lead, development team and end users to design, plan, execute and validate scenarios, scripts, and procedures to test system functionality prior to implementation • Identify bugs through systematic manual and or automated testing of systems and application software • Participate in design and requirements reviews, design and develop testing procedures and implement various types of tests to include functional, integration, regression and performance tests • Evaluate the testing load and recommend improvements in the validation strategy • Work closely with the development team to understand features, help reproduce errors and ensure defects are resolved • Review requirements, specifications, user documentation, help files, and other project documentation to assure quality of the products and tests to be developed. • Support and adhere to standards, procedures and guidelines to ensure the consistent execution of testing procedures • Utilize all support tools as directed including but not limited to entering all appropriate information (such as Product Backlog Item, tasks and bugs) into Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) and creating testing status, defect reports, and software maturity metrics • Interacts with multiple organizations and management levels. • Other duties may be assigned. Provide the following deliverables per direction of and assignment by the Agency Project Sponsor and/or the Agency Project Manager: • Report accurately on test results, providing a test summary after each sprint to Release manager. • Report the impact of proposed changes to product definition on the testing process. • Other deliverables as identified & assigned   Skills Required • Experience developing software tests for functional, performance and regression testing that include automated, ad-hoc, and manual testing elements. • In-depth knowledge of testing Web-based applications. • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously. • Ability to break down prioritized requirements into individual sprints • Knowledge on Microsoft Team Foundation Server • 2+ years C# coding experience. Understanding of object-oriented programming. • Automated testing experience a benefit.   Skills Preferred • Experience working in an Agile development environment, particularly SCRUM.   Experience Required • 4 years’ experience in testing environment   Experience Preferred Experience with State Government, Medicaid, CHIP, and DHR business area or health care industry   Education Required Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field.
