Sr. System Admin:

Will perform complex professional and advisory functions installing, maintaining, operation, and admiration for Unix-based operating systems and IBM software products. This includes but is not limited to: IBM AIX, SuSE, Redhat, and others.

Need to Have:

  • WebSphere

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support AIX environment
  • Support users with SUSE and administrative tasks
  • Definitely more hardware focused rather than software/OS support
  • Must be able to maintain current environment but provide input for future design in partnership with the State
  • Create various shell, and Perl scripts.
  • Confer with business personnel to identify and resolve issues.
  • Work with vendors to implement, maintain, and correct problems related to target systems.
  • Document all systems and performed actions in the approved manner.
  • Serves as project coordinator as needed across multiple agencies and locations.
  • Determines components, schedules, and assignments--providing expertise, guidance, and direction to staff.
  • Reviews and monitors project to ensure timeliness and quality.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve defects with the vendor products between the different vendors.

 Knowledge:

​Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field required.  Requires extensive knowledge and a minimum of 3 years professional experience with system and user administration and auditing. Configuration and administration of system security and auditability.

  • MARS-e v2.0 knowledge and experience. (Minimum Acceptable Risk Standards for Exchanges )
  • Infrastructure experience for enterprise, large-scale, n-tier, web based secured systems, access control software, system management and reporting software
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting secured protocol implementations 
  • Experience working within an n-Tier infrastructure environment.

Database Administrator – DB2:

The candidate will perform complex professional and advisory functions in the form of installation, configuration, testing, and documentation of IBM database software products in accordance with customer policies and procedures.

Need To Have:

  • Experience working with DB2 in a hosted environment (virtual is nice as well but hosted environment experience is a major requirement).
  • Experience working within an AIX/SuSe Environment.
  • Experience as a DBA in a clustered environment.

Nice To Have:

  • SQL Optimization experience.
  • Experience working with Purescale clustered DB2 on AIX.
  • Guardiam, Database Encryption software experience.
  • Experience with Q1 Labs QRadar.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain database by calculating optimum values for database parameters; implementing new releases; completing maintenance requirements; evaluating computer operating systems and hardware products. 
  • Monitor mainframe performance, install and configure databases.
  • Oversee database backup and recovery, patch upgrades, security compliance, and audit preparation.
  • Translate database issues, requirements, limitations, and parameters for management and staff.
  • Evaluate and analyze database systems for enhancements. 
  • Review database design to understand the effect on the database as well as how data is stored, accessed and analyzed.
  • Modify and optimize database programs to increase processing performance. 
  • Ensure consistency and reliability of data throughout database systems.

Knowledge:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field required.
  • Requires extensive knowledge and a minimum of 5 years professional administration experience.
  • 3+ years of experience administering, analyzing, and/or developing relational databases. 
  • Experience creating data models of databases, and monitoring/tuning database performance. 
  • IBM DB2.
  • IBM MQ.
  • IBM QReplication.   
  • PureScale DB2 cluster (optional).
  • IBM Guardium.
  • Experience in setting up Native encryption on DB2 databases.
  • Experience in backup, restore, recovery and performance tuning on IBM DB2 databases.
  • Experience in command line (Linux, AIX etc.).
  • Experience in any scripting language.
