Qualifications
- Strong Oracle administration, database architecture skills
- Excellent Goldengate administration skills
- Well versed in setting up and administering multi-node Oracle RAC clusters hosting multi-terabyte databases.
- Oracle Security and Hardening expertise is required.
- Practical experience in pro-active and reactive database performance tuning.
- A learning mentality is a must and willingness to get familiar with and develop expertise in new and varied database technology platforms both on-premises and in the cloud.
- It is expected to have an automation mindset to build streamlined solutions requiring minimal manual intervention as possible.
- Database capacity forecasting
- Supporting large scale Oracle databases on Unix based systems, preferably Linux and AIX
- Databases hosted on virtualized platforms (VMware, AIX LPARs)
- Extensive experience with different backup/restore and disaster recovery solutions
- Recent experience installing, configuring, and managing Oracle 19c environments.
Desirable skills include:
- Experience with Cloud database deployments are desirable.
- Experience with Oracle RAC is highly desirable.
- Unix shell scripting and Python scripting skills are highly desirable.
- Infrastructure Automation skills with an emphasis on self-service is highly desired.
- Experience with Puppet Labs desirable
- Experience with Cloudera (Big Data) and Kafka are highly desirable.
- Healthcare experience is highly desirable.
Other requirements
- Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to communicate technical concepts in an easy-to-understand form is essential.
- Should be a team player, with excellent organizational skills. Should have a positive attitude and be willing to bring A game to the table every day
- Operates under general direction. Assignments are very broad in nature and of the highest level of complexity. Ability to influence and have impact beyond own area of responsibility.
- Knowledge encompasses entire scope of a technical discipline and has received recognition for development of one or more unique sub-specialties.
- Experience working in a team which delivers a highly available environment supporting large project development efforts 24 x 7 onshore and offshore is desired. Familiarity with SDLC, Data Modeling, ITIL concepts and practices is required.
- Participation in On-Call Rotation is required
