Role: Data Protection Engineer-Remote
• Experience with a variety of backup vendors (Networker, Cohesity, TSM, and Data domain) Storage experience is a plus.
• Experience with deploying, managing and/or maintaining data protection solutions, such as Cohesity, Networker, TSM and Data Domain.
• Knowledge on configuring and restoring DB level backups (SQL, Informix, Oracle, SAP HANA, Sybase, SAP Oracle, Exchange, DB2 Etc.)
• Propose and Implement Backup Improvement Initiatives to enhance backup Performance & Backup Success Rates.
• Responsible for enterprise wide TSM infrastructure and Data Domain storage. Duties include provisioning, implementation / integration, standards / governance, patch management, monitoring, support, root cause analysis and performance tuning.
• Troubleshoot deep technical issues in Backup environments running on the Mentioned Tools & Technologies. Drive them to Resolution.
• Evaluates and applies software upgrades and support packs as required to solve production problems and/or ensure compliance and system integrity.
• Coordinating with global operations teams (e.g. Linux/Windows/Database, SAP) to restore and recover data as needed
• Proven ability to troubleshoot, resolve production issues, and make sensible decisions under pressure.
• Work with various vendor teams to define requirements and implement solutions to provide data protection services and support.
• Contributes to successful project completion by identifying risks and developing/recommending mitigation strategies.
• Strong analytical skills with a good background in data recovery, DR, on-premises as well as cloud (AWS, AZR, GCP)
• Experience with orchestration of Disaster Recovery automation
• A thorough understanding of "immutable" data stores to protect enterprise data against ransomware cyber-attacks.
• ITIL Processes like – Incident management, Request Fulfilment Management, IT Change, Problem management, KEDB/KM, CSI – from Storage and Backup technology perspective.
• Knowledge of working on a service request and managing stakeholders.
